Who the #!@*&% is Jason McLaren?

Hey! I’m Jason McLaren. I was born in Upstate NY, about an hour outside of NYC in the Hudson Valley. From a young age, I always wanted to be a performer, having participated in stage productions at as young as the age of 8. I fell in love with stand-up comedy further into my teenage years, especially after attending a live taping of The Tonight Show, and meeting host Jimmy Fallon. I then began my career in stand-up at the age of 18, attending open mics and creating a foundation for my act. My career began to take off right before the first wave of COVID hit, in which I then took my comedic persona to social media, primarily on TikTok. Within my first 3 months on the app, I amassed over 10,000 followers.

When COVID ended, I began to further develop my stand-up career, producing local comedy nights in my area, catching the attention of seasoned veterans in comedy. I have had the opportunity of performing all across the Tri-State area, performing at various clubs and venues. I’ve been fortunate enough to perform and open for many comedians who have appeared on HBO, MTV, NBC, and Showtime. Notably, I’ve performed at Governor’s Comedy Clubs on Long Island and Broadway Comedy Club and St. Marks Comedy Club in NYC. I also frequently perform at my home club, Laugh it Up Comedy Club in Poughkeepsie NY. In 2022, I was invited to be a guest on the Staten Island-produced late night show “Up Late with Johnny Potenza”, which stars such as Pete Davidson and Chris DiStefano appeared early in their careers.

I also do many fundraiser shows, raising money for foundations and causes such as the Special Olympics, NY Police and Fire Departments, and fundraising for veterans, pets, and schools.

I currently reside in my hometown of Newburgh, NY where I continue to hone my craft and grow as a comic and performer. I also eat a lot of cold cut sandwiches and watch the Knicks in my downtime.
